Guest Designer Tracey Sabella

We're thrilled to welcome Guest Designer Tracey Sabella!

Hi everyone! I'm Tracey Sabella and have been married to the man of my dreams, Gary, for 32 years and counting. We are blessed with 4 wonderful children, and with two weddings in recent years our family is growing. Faith and family are the most important things in my life. We live atop a hill surrounded by wildlife and gorgeous forest in northeast Ohio.

I discovered scrapbooking in 2007 and soon realized what a wonderful creative outlet it is for me. I enjoy mixing things up, but my go to style these days is what I call shabby mixed media. I adore textures and enjoy combining rugged, grungy elements with more delicate items. I am blessed to design for some amazing companies including Donna Salazar Designs, Leaky Shed Studio, and Helmar. I am a regular contributor to Scrapbooking.com Magazine and am blessed to share my work each month for the Once Upon A…Sketch Challenges.

I am so delighted to be guest designing for Berry71Bleu. The October Mood Board is gorgeous, and I really enjoyed designing with it. I would be honored for you to drop by my blog, Garden of Grace.

"I'm Just a Summer Kind of Girl"

I was struck by the gorgeous colors and flowers in the October Mood Board and incorporated them into my page design. I used Marivic's gorgeous printable Journal Cards and the wonderful Jellypark Digital Stamps with more details below.

October Mood Board

Close-ups and Details

This title and focal flower are created with the Jellypark Digital Stamps. I cut out 5 each of two different trees minus the trunks then misted, scrunched and rubbed with gold and copper liquid pearls. I adhered the "tree" leaves to a small cardstock circle and centered with a decorative brad. I cut apart the summer girl sentiment in Photoshop, printed on white cardstock, then colored with Pan Pastels.

The wood veneer flowers are heat embossed with Fran-tage embossing enamel. I've dry brushed the flowers with gesso and rubbed with copper Pan Pastels.

I applied mist around the cluster and across the page in yellow, gold, and copper, then splattered with copper mist then blue and white drawing ink. I also scattered small blue beads around the cluster. An easy way to securely adhere beads to your layout is to hold the bead with fine tip tweezers and dip into a strong clear glue like Helmar 450. Tap off any excess glue and lay onto the page. I squeeze out a dollop of glue onto my craft mat to dip into.

A side view.

Here's a shot of the top cluster. I've layered Marivic's gorgeous Journaling Tags around my photo. I rubbed gold metallic paint onto the edges, then adhered to the page before splattering the background.

The page edges are colored with Pan Pastels, stamped, then edged with gold and blue metallic paints.

One final shot.

I hope you've been inspired to create a layout of your own with the Berry71Bleu October Mood Board. Play along this month for your chance to win one of these fantastic prize packages!

~ Blessings ~
Tracey

Maja Design was founded in November 2007, and since then, have grown to supply over 70 retailers in Sweden and 90 all over the world. Founder Marie Jansson says: "In the fall of 2004, a dear friend asked me to join her to a scrapbooking course. From that moment, I became totally amazed and thrilled by all the beautiful papers and decorations in the art of scrapbooking. After some time as a captivated scrapper, I got curious to create my own patterns. I have always had a devotion for color and form. I had access to great printing facility, as I worked at a printers office. Since 2007, I have been blessed to be able to work with my great passion - to design and create colored coordinated paper.
